update

Jun 02, 2009

i havent posted in a while. between work and the gym, there doesnt seem to be enough time in the day. i am down 50 lbs since surgery march 11.  my bmi went from extremely obese to obese.  we celebrate the little successes now.  it is still a daily struggle to get the right amount of protein and water in.  i am not a great water drinker.  now that it is hot, it is a little easier.  the last week or so my hair has been falling out in the shower, any suggestions... increase protein intake... i know some hair loss is normal.......

Apr 29, 2009

TOday is our seventh week from surgery.  I went back to work today with strict advise from Andrea to preplan meals so i dont fall into old habits.  my husband is down 65 lbs and i am down 35.  that is according to dr. c scale.  our scale for whate3ver reason is 15 lbs lighter than his... i know, we like ours better.  so i go to work today and my uniform was ridiculously big.  stop at the uniform shop and guess what... my new pants have a waist that is 10 INCHES SMALLER!!!!!  YOU HEARD RIGHT, 10 INCHES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  my first real wow moment and my shirt is 3

pcos question

Apr 18, 2009

For anyone out there with pcos, I had my surgery on march 11, 2009 so its been 5.5 weeks and i've had my period about nine times.  Is this normal?  quite frankly its driving me crazy, as well as the cramping that i dont know what to take for.  i used to take midol and it worked very good, but its on the list of not supposed to take now.  any suggestions?

weight loss since 3/20/09

Apr 09, 2009

Lost 12 lbs since 3/20/09 after a stall of a couple weeks!    Everybody on here told me to be patient and I am moving again.  Patience though, during a stall is hard.  Feels like you should be losing every day.  The last few days has been a struggle though to get enough protein and water in for the day.  As i start to get my life back, it does become more of a challenge!

so confused,,day 18

Mar 29, 2009

So here i am on day 18 and i havent lost any weight in like 5 days.  How could i possibly be in a stall already?  I'm only 2.5 weeks out of surgery?  am i doing something wrong?  I'm working hard on protein, i get enough liquids in.  I lost 23 lbs my first week and half out of surgery, now nothing for almost a week.  I have PCOS, does that mean I'm gonna struggle just as hard after surgery as i did before?  or am i panicking over nothing?  I feel like i dont eat anything but protein because im not in a hurry to make myself eat too much, so i stop after i get protein in.  I;m taking my vitamins.....my husband seems to be in a small stall too, but he lost almost 40 already.  we had surgery on the same day!  someone help me out!!!!!

2 weeks post op

Mar 25, 2009

So i havent posted in a few days.   Yesterday was our check up with Dr. C.  We saw Andrea and she was very cool.  She explained stuff and we are right on track.  She moved us up to pureed foods as well.  We can walk, no gym yet :(  I am so bored.
Today is two weeks out.  I am down 27 lbs.  My husband is down almost 40 lbs.  It really shows on him.  he went to group last night and met some people.  I couldnt go.
I'm ready to start eating real food.  My biggest problem is not that i am hungry but that i feel i should be eating.  especially since we are sitting around so much.  so i try to stay out of the kitchen as much as i can.  any suggestions??
we bought nectar today from vitamin shoppe to see if that is easier on us than unjury.  We hate unjury.  We got vitamins we can swallow so we dont have to chew those vitamins anymore.  They are for gastric bypass patients too.  They are made small enough to swallow.  So, things are going well, we keep losing.....more energy everyday, cant wait to get released for the gym.
