Had my staples removed today. Infection is doing OK. Doctor wants to leave the sutures in 1 more week. Weight is down another 7 pounds in TWO days. Weight loss should slow down some as he wants me to start phase IV of the nutrition plan. SOFT FOODS! Beats the hell out of pureed soup! I feel pretty good. Pain isn't too bad, certainly manageable. I feel like I am way ahead of the curve.

Went and saw my surgeon today as I have a minor infection going on in my incision. He put me on some antibiotics. No big deal. He also removed my drain tube, YIKES!! They warned me before I left the hospital that this would hurt and to load up on medication before having it done. Unfortunately I didn't think he was going to do it until Thursday so I didn't. I made darn well sure I was well medicated when I got home tho. Now for the good news...They also weighed me while I was there and I have already lost 32 pounds in less than 1 week. YES! Makes the pain alot more bearable thats for sure.

Home from the hospital today! I'm kinda sore but feel pretty darn good. I do miss that epidural tho as the liquid vicodon just isn't quite as good. My surgery took about 2 hours as they removed my gall bladder at the same time. Staying with my sister for at least a week and going to see my surgeon at his office next Thursday. Hopefully he will remove my staples and drain tube at that time.

TODAYS THE DAY! My surgery is scheduled for 6:45 this evening, the last one scheduled for today. I wish it was earlier. Now I get to sit around hungry, thirsty and with a headache most of the day. Not feeling too nervous tho and I did sleep pretty good last night. Nothing compared to the nap I'll be taking this afternoon tho. LETS GET IT ON!

Well tomorrows the big day. Finished all my running around this morning before I had to take my Citrate of Magnesium. Been kind of "occupied" since then. Bag is packed except for my CPAP. My hospital doesn't tell you when your check in or surgery time is until the day before. Called them around 2:30 and found out that my surgery isn't until 6:45pm, they want me there at 3:45pm. I sure wish it was earlier in the day. Now not only can't I drink or eat anything after midnight I have to sit around most of the day thirsty and hungry. Poor,poor miserable me. Just gonna have to tough it out I guess. Hope I can sleep tonight but I doubt it.

Just a little over a week until my surgery. I'm starting to get just a little antsy. My boss has really been piling on the work knowing that I'm going to be gone 4 to 6 weeks. Got all my paperwork turned in for short term disability. Gotta go to the union office and sign up for sub pay too. Going to make it alot easier finance wise. Going to make my cat mad during my recovery tho as he will not be allowed to sleep on my chest. But it will make him happier in the long run as I will be able to chase him all over the house again, his favorite game.

Had my pre admittance testing today. The nurse took some blood and did an EKG. I met with the anathesiologist, nice enough guy. I am having a "TrapEase" Vena Cava filter installed on Wednesday. Just a little over 3 weeks to my RNY. I still got all my old rock & roll t-shirts from when I was younger. Can't wait until I can wear them again.
