I began my journey by being referred to Mary Washington Hospital in Oct. of 2007. I weighed 347 lbs and am 5' 4". After many pre op appts and jumping through all the hoops I was approved for surgery in May 2008. I had 3 surgical dates - all of which were cancelled by the surgeon with various reasons (his daughter graduating college, going on vacation that week, and the last straw - his surgical partner quit). That was the sign for me to finally move on.
My insurance then granted me a 2nd opinion appt to Dr. Halmi at Potomac hospital in late August 08. I met with Dr. Tran and immediately felt welcome and a good vibe from the office. It took a while to get my insurance to change over to potomac - not sure why but finally was approved in Dec 08 for surgery in January 09!!! What a great way to start the year.

04/14/09 - 257 - 3 month post op anniversary - 90lbs lost forever!!!
04/21/09 - 250 - Lab work appt! WOW!!
05/14/09 - 237 - 4 month post op anniversary - 110 GONE!!
05/26/09 - 232 - Dr. appt. - 115 DOWN
06/14/09 - 223 - 5 month post op anniversery -124 GONE!
07/14/09 - 211 - 6 month post op - 136lbs gone - YIPPEE!!
08/06/09 - 199 - Follow up Dr. visit (148 lbs down)
08/14/09 - 195 - 7 month post op - DOWN 152 pounds!!

09/14/09 - 183 - 8 month post op - 164 lbs DOWN
10/14/09 - 176 - 9 month post op - DOWN 171 lbs!
