... and OH MY GOODNESS am i exhausted...

i never thought going home would be so hard to do...!

took a nap already... getting into and out of bed is turning out to be quite the task.... ugh... my back is still killing me...

Kinda irritated that had i not had another surgury last night that i could have been in my own bed last night, but overall im happy that i can take a drink of water, or go for a walk today withough having to carry a "puke cup" around with me... two and half days of that was enough for me!

Im really sore today, even with the morphine... my back is killing me... these beds are nothing to write home about... and it does not help that i am a stomach sleeper either... now i got two things working against me! lol.  

apparently, during the second surgury, they used the same 5 inscesions to go back into my stomach so i wouldn't have 5 MORE scars... which is nice and all, but now im really bruised up from the second surgury....makes for getting out of bed to be really difficult again... *sigh* i was doing so well!

anyways, things are looking good after last nights surgury... i can drink water without getting sick, they even gave me Jello last night... apparently while in surgury, my Dr. wanted to triple check everything before finishing up the surgury.. so he went down my throat with a camera to check to make sure everything looked good...  which is nice, cause that means i didnt have to drink that dye stuff again this morning...  YAY!  but anyways...  if i can hold off hitting that morphine button, then they will let me go home tomorrow... !  =) 

Surgury Number 2 is now complete...

Apparently during the first surgury, the staple gun had malfunctioned and sealed me up... [which the doctor wouldnt know until doing all the tests that were done...]

My Dr. explained the issue to me, and felt bad that i had to go through two surguries, as this issue is not a common one.. However, in his defense, he did everything possible to figure out the issue, and fix the problem, even though he had no way of knowing  that the staple gun had mis-fired...

i love my doctor! even with my complications, i will not hesitate to refer my friends & family to Dr. McKeen.

Things are really fuzzy thanks to that lovely morphine button...

but anyways, they told me that my pouch was really swollen and chances are that they opening was swollen shut and they wanted to look at it, so they took me down for an endoscopy [sp?] today... 

i called my mom cause she wasnt there before they came to take me down, and told her i would probally be back in my room before she got there... but to come reguardless and meet me in my room...it was supposed to be semi sedated procedure... but i guess they knocked me out cause i was fussy....when i came to afterwards i saw my mom standing at the foot of my bed... but i was still in the procedure room... guess she made it to my room and i wasnt there yet so she tracked me down... i love my mom! 

i remember them blowing air into my stomach and feeling the flapping of air flying out my mouth, it sounded like a big huge continuous fart... and i recall hearing them say "theres no opening" .. and then i guess i passed out...

Come to find out... there was no stomach opening to the small intestines... and they had no idea what went wrong during surgury, but i would be going back into surgury at 5pm that night to fix whatever went wrong...

I got to drink that dye stuff today @ 930am... and stand in front of the thing that shows them if the pouch has any leaks or anything... come to find out... nothing is moving into the intestines...  this isnt good...  and also might explain last nights fits of throwing up bile... in an array of colors.. started brown, then red... then green, and finally my body settled on a brownish green...

then a few hours later, they took me down for a normal x-ray of the abdomen... not quite sure why... but i decided i wanted to walk to the xray rather than have me ride in a wheelchair and have hitting bumps and whatnot be at the discression of the guy driving my wheelchair... i win.

I found out Friday Oct 9th, that my Surgeons office got the pre-auth for my surgury.

I go in Tuesday 10/13/09 @ 530am.. for a surgury time of 730am...

Also had the best evening ever... we went out to karaoke and told everyone it was my birthday (celebrated 2 months early...)  but that was AFTER getting free tickets to the SHARKS game !  woo hoo... awesome game.. =)

UGH... i have a surgury date of oct 13, but no insurance approval... thursday morning i was told they would have an approval in hand sometime on friday...

all this waiting is driving me insane...!

why does it have to be so far away?!?!?!

I found out monday, that i will know by/ on thursday if its approved...

however, now that i think of it... i recall the gal in the office say she was going to call and check on it wednesday... which would be today. ugh. going crazy here....

Had my gallbaldder ultrasound today, and then my pre-op appointment too... 

I have a surgury date of Oct. 13th.. Check into hospital @ 5:30am... surgury @ 7:30am...  pure liquid diet the day before...  as well as the magnesium citrate cleanout... oh how THAT will be fun.. lol

anyways.. all this is fine and dandy, but they still havent gotten the official insurance approval yet...  even though it seems as if it is all set in stone, its still not... things could still go haywire. wont know for sure until thursday... at the latest..

I hate waiting! *sigh*
