4/25/03- Sick all the time, vomiting everything.

4/27/03- Spent day in hospital....because of leg cramps---dr thought it might be blood clots ; turned out to be dangerously low potassium. Potassium IVs are not fun.

4/28/03- Broke out in hives and had shortness of breath from potassium meds---found out I am allergic to Nutrasweet...everything I can have right now has Nutrasweet...great.

5/2/03- 11 days post op , I am finally beginning to feel like a human being---can't wait for pureed food!!

6/26/03-Things are much better. I am 8 weeks post op and have lost 37lbs so far. My stomach is still unsure as I can eat one thing one day and I am fine but eat it the next and get an upset stomach. My biggest challenge has been trying to get all my protein and water in on the same day. I can do one or the other. Also I haven't tired to swallow vitamins yet but need to as I am allergic to the sweetner in the chewables. I am eating most things including fruit but bread and pasta have not sat well
overall.

9/1/03 --Things are going great . I have lost so much so quickly that my friends and family really didn' recognize me. I have been able to eat almost anything except rice and pasta. I have drank diet soda once or twice and coffee. I had some cake on my birthday a forkfull or two and was fine and satisfied.

1/9/04----I have lost 100 lbs....This has been the best thing I have ever done for myself

4/4/05---I am almost to my 2 year anniversary. I have maintained my weight loss of over 100 lbs. I feel great, I started running, yoga and now pilates. I wear a six 6 jacket and size 8 pants. My friends tell me I should be in a commercial. I haven't looked or felt this good since college.

4/22/07--- 4 years later and I have maintained my weight loss- of over 100 lbs- I got too thin at one point and my dr made me gain weight- imagine that!! I have had few issues with anemia but I would do it again without question

4/22/08- 5 YEAR ANNIVERSARY- wow where did the time go-- I have had a stressful year which included several surgeries including a hysterectomy- nothing related to my gastric bypass. During the recovery period I have gained some weight- but I am still under the 100 lb goal I kept for myself and will be trying to get back on the treadmill to take off the extra few pounds I have put on following my last surgery. I still would not change anything about the surgery
