Praying for a New Year's wish to come true...

Hello all!! My name is Heather, I am 25 yrs old and I realized this Christmas that it is time to have this surgery. I have been reasearching it for a year now and really feel lead to go for it! I am from a long line of "heavy people." My mother and my sister have both had the gastric bypass surgery (paid for mind you by their insurance) and I simply do night like the problems they are having. I know each person is different, but I am very similar to my sister... she has gained ALL of her weight back! I do not want to make a rash decision. BUT, lately I have been feeling very, for lack of a better word, sick! I am at the point where I cannot even sit comfortably because my stomach is under sooo much pressure from the weight being carried. Anyway, I am considering having the surgery in Mexico because I will have to pay for the surgery on my own with financing. Has anyone on here gone to Mexico for the surgery? Please let me know if you have and share with me your experience. I would appreciate it so much. I have little to no support from my family in the pursuit of doing the Lap band surgery. Thankfully I am done with my undergrad degree and didn't ever have to take out financial aid, I recieved a "full-ride" athletic scholarship in track & field. I have always been a large girl, a strong woman who hide the pain of being made fun of her whole life. I have had enough hiding and want to work toward seeking a solution.
