a little discouraged

Sep 28, 2007

well, what can i say.   .   .  Here it is the 28th of September.  I had my first attempt at Lap. Gastric bypass on the 6th of June, i will never forget that day as long as i live!  I went in for surgery thinking that this was going to be the first day of the rest of my new life, only to wake up to my wonderful Doctor, Dr. Frantzides tell me with a very sad tone that he had to abort the procedure!  See, what we didn't know until that moment was that i had the BIGGEST darn Liver he had ever seen, there was one other liver that was what he thought had been the largest (Teena Austin)  and mine was twice her size 23+ cm to be exact - 5 times the size of a normal human liver!  According to his team the attempt left them braking 3 balloon retractors, they tried more than once but to not harm me they decided to abort!

Now its is 3+ months later and after a high protein diet (only thing that will shrink a liver)  i was told that the massive thing has not moved a CM!  can we see now why i am so discouraged?  Nevertheless, Dr. Frantzides and Lesley his PA continue to reassure me to continue with the diet that sooner or later the thing will budge and they will attempt again.  I can't wait for the day.
