Well, I wonder if I am begining to develop a case of the nerves.  I read some posts in the memorial section and I started getting sad and a *little* scared.  Some of those folks were very young.  Some had very young children.   I know that I am bold to say out loud that I am not scared of surgery, I'm not.  I'm scared of dying.  I know that if it is my time... it is my time. But what if it IS my time.  I haven't changed my mind, just thinking.

I am starting my 3 week diet one week from tomorrow. 

I ordered a Magic Bullet.  I kept reading how people mixed up their daily protein shakes, etc using one and I remembered what a pain it was to wash the full size blender so, what the heck.  I got one.  I ordered it from Amazon.com and they had a special and I got free shipping in addition to being the lowest price I found as of yet ($53).  I hope it works as well as the reviews indicate it will.

I just got back from my recon mission at Food Lion. I wanted to search out the Sugar Free selections, see if there were any of the syrups I have been reading about etc. I was disappointed and figured that I will checkout the Lowes Foods in Walkertown and if I don't have any luck there I will be heading to Winston to shop at GNC and Whole Foods. I was hoping to avoid driving that far for groceries. I did purchase some sugar free pudding, jell-o and some chicken broth so that I will have some on hand for post-op.

I got all my supplies from AmericanHomeHealth and started wearing my CPAP again a couple of nights ago.  It seems that I take it off during the night although when I go to sleep I seem to be pretty comfortable.  I am trying to get used to it again before the surgery.

I got the call this morning from WFU Baptist Medical Center.  They have scheduled my surgery for the week after Dr Fernandez returns from his vacation.  I hope he is well rested!!!  

I will be starting the three week diet on August 19th, if not before.  I understand that I will be able to eat....next to nothing.   Oh well, I am more than ready and I will  be very busy in the next few days getting all my ducks in a row.  Okay, one happy dance for the road and I will update later.

BCBS of NC has my paperwork now from the surgeon.  It is in review.  My fingers and toes are crossed!!

I called the surgeon's office again today and left a message.  Getting a little antsy about my date. 

I met the daughter of a friend at work who had the RNY with an open incision three years ago.  She looked great (post plastic surgery) and gave me a few tips and tricks and lots of encouragement.
