Hello,
I have been fighting obesity most of my adult life.  I've been recreactionally interested in WLS at first, but the open procedures scared me.  Now that many of the procedures are done laproscopically, I'm very seriously looking into it.  I have several incentives called grandchildren and health issues that include MS.  I am using a wheelchair due to MS but the extra weight is limiting my mobility even more.  Personal care, dressing and my back are suffering.  My BMI is 36 and I have 80 lbs to lose, but carry most of the weight in my belly and it now rests on my legs cutting my circulation, I am extremely encouraged to move forward.  I'm am looking at the banding process because the recovery looks easier to handle for one with limited mobility.  Although I have talked to one office that suggested for me to consider others that may not be as dependent on exercise.  I live in Yelm and am married to a now retired military member, so I have some options.  I have been referred to the Surgery clinic at MAMC.  Because I also have Medicare, I'm have two other seminars scheduled. one in Vancouver and one in Lakewood..  I also have an appointment with a doctor in Kirkland.  I want to be as careful as I can in making this decision.
