Lap Band

Aug 03, 2011

 Hi

I had the lap band in April 2011.  I have only had two fills.  The weight has not come off quickly enough for me but that is also my fault for not getting more fills when I need them.  I find you really need to train yourself on looking at food in a whole different way.  For myself I can hardly eat any kind of meat other than salmon.  I have chosen to try to fresh juice drinks and soups.  I also notice I really had better results when I stopped eating out and really focus on trying a vegan and gluten free diet.  Its very hard to follow when your traveling but if you have a trader Joe's or whole foods they are very helpful.  You'll see the difference right away when you are eating clean verses going out for fast food.  Try Juicing at whole foods.  It is so good for you.  I also work out everyday.  It is really important for your mind and your energy level and mood.  I have been very moody because I can't eat.  It makes me mad so I have learned to find pleasure in working out and liquid juices that are good for me.  At first I was disappointed with my lap band surgery I felt like it didn't work and I wasted my time and money.  Now after having the second fill and having the band for a year I feel much happier about my decision.  I have finally lost 20 pounds my clothes are hanging on me and I have learned to eat healthier.  I know I would have never gotten to this weight if it wasn't for my band.  I can't wait to get my next fill and get the rest of the weight off.

Good Luck to all of you

Valerie
