So I am almost a year out and now on my birthday my husband is getting RNY done too, I am so excited for him. RNY is the best thing that I ever did for myself, however I am glad to be in the waiting room right now and not the surgery room, those first couple of weeks are rough.

          I had my two week pre-op family visit today, I weighed 267 down a couple of pounds. So I'm getting really close to the day(10/21) I'm excited and nervous. I have never had surgery before.

    I had my first appointment today with my surgeon. I GOT A DATE provided that all test come back O.K. OCT.21,2009 is my day!!!!

  Well I went to the required seminar today, it was very helpful. I learned allot about what to expect before during and after the surgery and I feel like I am making an informed decision now. I have my first appointment with my surgeon, Dr. Koura on Tuesday and I will also have to see the dietitian that day as well I'm excited. I will also try to attend the nutrition and aftercare group sessions on Thursday the 17Th if I can get out of work early. 

Surgeons office called today and scheduled me for an informational seminar on sat the12Th and my first appointment is on Tue 15Th.

Well it's official I have been APPROVED Blue Shield called me today and told me that I had been approved for surgery and that my surgeon's office would be calling me by Monday to schedule my first appointment. I'm so excited.

Still no word from my doctors office today I think I will call tomorrow. I want to have surgery in Sep. but I think I may be asking for too much.
