Hi everyone! Well, I'm 6-1/2 months postop and have lost 78 pounds so far. I feel like a new person already. I can't believe that I was carrying that extra 78 pounds around with me for the amount of time that I did. I saw my PCP, and he was so happy for me! I am no longer diabetic, blood pressure is 111/70, cholestrol is 128. He told me can you imagine carrying 5 pound bags of sugar equivalent to 78 pounds? WOW, I never even thought of it in that way!! Hope everyone is doing fine and good luck on your journeys to a healthier life! Have a wonderful week!! Aloha, Pat 261/183/goal 118-115 (I'm only 5 feet tall)

Hi everyone! I am 5 months post op and already feel like a new person. I feel truly blessed to have had this surgery. I can now do so many things that I was not able to before the surgery. I have lost 67 pounds so far! I still have a ways to go but feel confident about it. I know that I just need to stay committed to my food intake, protein and liquid intake and keep up with the exercise. Thank you for all your support and take care! Aloha, Pat 261/194/goal 120-1115? I'm only 5 feet tall.

4/4/05 It's been quite awhile since I've posted anything since my lap rny on 1/10/05. I am 12 weeks post op as of today and have lost 49 pounds so far. I am so thankful that I chose to have this life altering surgery. I am no longer diabetic and do not need to take my insulin twice a day, or my two oral meds for diabetes. I am still checking my glucose once a week for my pcp just to keep on top of it. He wants to make sure that I don't backslide. I feel great! I have more energy and feel better about myself. Although, I have a long ways to go until I reach my goal. I feel that as long as I follow my surgeon's instructions I should be able to one day say that I am finally ______ lbs. which I not have been for _____ years. Thank you to everyone on this website. It is so awesome to have someplace where you can go to read about other's that are going through the same process and many times I have been able to hopefully offer some suggestions to someone who is still pre-op. I am almost 2 weeks post op and feeling great! Went for my follow-up checkup with Dr. Cirangle today. I have lost 21 poinds. I could never imagine anything like this. I have been taking all my meds, the protein drink, calcium and vitamin supplements with hardly any problems at all. None to really speak of. I feel truly blessed that I was able to receive this surgery. By the way, for those of you who might be having trouble taking your protein drink. I suggest the brand Isopure=chocolate flavor. It's a little more expensive but well worth the extra money! You can get it at the GNC stores. I make mine by adding crushed ice, the powder and ice water and shaking it all up until well blended. It actually tastes like a chocolate milk shake. The nain thing is to make it with everything cold. Well, can't wait to hear from someone from Hawaii who was at Pali Momi last week!!! Aloha for now, Pat Nicely
