Home from sugery

Mar 27, 2009

Well I made it home alive with lap band in place Thank God! Now my journey is just begining. I have been recuperating mighty well considering, I am noticing that I get completely worn out rather easily. The day after surgery I decided to walk around for about 2 hours because I was visiting TJ and let me tell you it was to much to soon  by the time I got back to the hotel I was BEAT, I mean just whoopped. So I've got to conserve my energy at this point. My surgery and trip went great, as well as I could have expected and now my little lap band is starting to do it's work, the first few days it  was a challenge just to get enough pills and liquid down to avoid becoming dehyderated or in alot of pain. I was actually overstuffed on a 1/2 a bowl of broth and a cup of tea. Today the liquids are passing easier, which is probably evidence of the healing proccess. I'm glad to be back home with my babies but now that all the dust is settling, for some reason I'm feeling a little sad, not because I'm hungry  but because I'm missing the love affair with food, for some reason the vision of a big piece of greasy fried chicken keeps coming up in my mind and I'm realizing that if I were to eat something like that it would nearly kill me, I'd be in so much pain I wouldn't know what to do. So yes I'm still proccessing all of the changes that are going on with my mind and body :) Today it has been exactly 1 week since I started my liquid diet. Last friday I wieghed in at 276 lbs and this morrning I weighed in at 261.2 so yeah I'll take that (15lbs)! I know most of it is water weight or what ever but still I'm happy, and I hope the wieght will keep dropping off, cause I got big plans(haha) I've got to be careful not to weigh myself to often maybe once maybe twice a week. Well thats all for now.
