Hitting the Plateau
Oct 29, 2010
Well I officially hit the plateau just 6 months after surgery. And now that I am 8 months out of surgery, I can eat almost anything I want ( a big big problem ) only with a few exceptions of highly carbohydrated sweets. I have been under lots of stress lately with this school semester and work. But I am starting to pay attention again and be aware that I don't need to eat for habit, I only need to eat for necessity. Happy Halloween everyone!!

6 Weeks Post-Op
Mar 20, 2010
So here I am 6 weeks out from surgery and what can I say? WOW! I feel better than ever! I'm not sore anymore and I'm starting to feel normal! I am eating regular food (high in protein of course) but still regular. I was always a meat eater and now I have had steak once again. It is wonderful to get that feeling of fullness and satisfaction with such a small piece of meat. I have learned to feel what my body needs or doesn't need. I can now feel full and know that I need to stop. I have actual hunger as well. It is a blessing to be able to have those traits when I didn't have them in perspective before. I'm losing about 3 lbs a week. I thought it was slow at first, but I think now that it's okay. If I had any advice to a person looking into weight loss surgery it would be this.... DO IT! YOU WON'T REGRET IT!!

65-75g of Protein Daily
Mar 09, 2010
Yeah for me!! For the first time since surgery I have made my daily goal of 65-75 grams of protein!! I have to say that I bought several products from Focus28 and it has made it so easy and good too!!
I am elated that I am learning what is working for me. I am also starting to feel better with each day! This is so exciting!!
1 Month Post-Op
Mar 03, 2010
Well, I have made it to my one month marker. I still tire easily, and my leg muscles are a bit sore. My left side is still healing slowly and the Dr. calls it a "healing ridge." In any event, I have gone back to work. It is tough, but I'm eating regular food now. I just have to remember a couple things. Eat small, slow and high in protein, and only drink 30 minutes before or after a meal, never with a meal. Keeping those thoughts in mind, I have started tracking my food intake again. It really helps me stay on track. I have dropped a total of 35 lbs since the first of the year and it still isn't sinking in yet that I am losing. Maybe when my pants fall off I'll realize it!!

2 weeks post-op
Feb 17, 2010
Well, I am two weeks post-op and I can say that I am doing pretty good. I just have one complication. I have a small infection on my left side. It is very painful, both to the touch and to move about. I have started an antibiotic and hopefully the infection will dwindle away. I am set to go back to work on March 1st, so I am hoping to feel much better than I do at present. I am progressing a little faster than I should with my diet. I was supposed to be on full liquids the 2nd and 3rd week post-op. However, I am eating soft solids now. I am carefull to make sure that I can tolorate things before eating much. Plus, the strangest thing has happened to me. I used to hate drinking plain water. I would have to flavor it with sugar free kool-aids and such. Although, since I have had surgery, I crave nothing but water and no other drink will do. Strange huh? Well, enough for now. I'll write more later down the road when I feel more up to it.
