1 week post op

OK, here I am 1 week out.  Turns out, I had a large hiatal hernia!!!  Who knew?  Not me, I didn't have any symptoms. Surgery was a breeze.  I woke up, wide awake, in recovery to find 3 of my friends working (I'm a RN).  So we gossiped and had a great time!  Hospitalization was also a breeze.  Had some left shoulder and chest pain for a couple of days.  Now I'm having right shoulder and right chest pain.  MD says it's from the hernia repair and the diaphram being irritated.  It's getting better every day.  I've lost 12 lbs so far!!!  Got through the first week of liquids, now I get to eat "mushies".  I cannot wait to chew, even if the food doesn't require it
