5/24/07 - It has been a VERY long time since I've been able to post anything. I've been pretty busy, didn't have access to a computer and have been doing a lot of work...yes, for my employer, but mostly for God and myself.
I've been going to church again, and become pretty involved. It's odd...something clicked in me that I had been looking for many many years and never been able to find. I always felt I was almost on the edge...but then nothing happened. I've spent the last 20 years trying other ways to get to God...and the silly thing is, the only thing I had to do was just go to Him.
So...here I am. I am doing a sign language ministry in church (we learn as we go), working on the new web page we are getting together, working with other people who are trying to lose weight (without the surgery), crocheting blankets for the rescue mission, sometimes working in the office for a few hours...and, most recently beginning to learn how to run the video portion of the worship services. I'd really like to get involved in the singing portion of the services again like I used to...and have even been considering finding out more information on how to become a Deaconess.
I'm still at my mom's house, and trying to get myself caught up on bills. It isn't easy since I'm making about half of what I did when I lived in Florida, but God will provide, of that I have no doubt.
I'm down to a size 14 now, which is what I wore in highschool. I know sizes have changed since the invention of dirt (which was when I was in highschool, lol), but it feels good just the same. I can tie my shoes, bend over, touch my toes...touch my hands behind my back...I can walk further than 10 feet without feeling winded...I can sleep, and do lots of things I couldn't do before when I was heavy.
I'm going to an all day Christian Concert next Saturday...10 hours of music alone, let alone the comedian and the speakers. I invited another single person my age from church to go with. Don't know him very well, but it should be fun getting to know someone new and listening to all the good music.
Well, I think that's enough for now. I've got some work to do before the others from the web team get here, so I better get to it.
