Question:
Rockford, IL post-ops please!
Hi I am Amy and have recently relocated to Rockford. I am here all alone, without a physician or a support network. I am very stressed with a new job, a big move, and no one to lean on. On Nov. 19th I will be one year post op! I recently found that I have gained back 8 lbs. I am also finding my old eating habits sneaking up on me. I know I need to stop this now but can't do it alone. Would love to get to know some local people and share thoughts and ideas. Does anyone go to the support group in Belvidere? Hi Amy, my name is Anna and although I no longer live in Rockford (live an
hour south in La Salle), I have friends and family still there. My oldest
and dearest friend is Barb Barrie. She is a member of this site so you can
look her up under "Find Peers." Her e-mail address is on her
profile. She just had open RNY about 3 weeks ago at BTC in Belvidere. She
also happens to be a nurse there, so she could give you some info on their
support group meetings. I had lap RNY on July 3, 2002. So far so good, down
about 90 pounds (last weigh-in was 87). Please don't panic about those 8
lbs. I have read from several people here that it is quite common to have a
slight weight gain at 1 year out, then you start losing again. Of course it
also depends on how close to goal you are? You're right, you can't do this
alone and there is no reason you have to do it alone! Hang in there girl!

Amy, you are not alone! I don't have surgery until Dec 4, but I know there
are a lot of people who are going thru what you are! I'm in the near west
suburbs of Chicago, and we have a yahoo group, that I think someone else is
