Question:
Devrom (Bismuth Subgallate) use post op

Do you have any experience with Devrom (Bismuth Subgallate)? Is it safe? I can't find much information on it. Did it help with odors? Thanks for your input.    — Allison M. (posted on August 25, 2004)

I haven't used it personally but knows dozens upon dozens of people who have. We sell it in our bariatric store. Those who do need it and use it seem to be repeat customers. They sing it's praises too. I know we sell alot of it so I'm thinking it's effective. Our docs say it's perfectly safe to take. Best wishes to you!

Check out www.wls.com I think that is the addy, anyway it is Barbara Thompson's website. She sells it there and she uses it so you can ask her questions about it!

I am currently taking Devrom. I have taken it for about 3 weeks. For me, it does help. It doesn't prevent gas entirely, but it sure has reduced the amount and odors a great deal. I buy mine from another site, which says you can ask your local pharmacy to get it for you. Which I have not done yet, am planning though. My cost was 100 tablets was 10 dollars and 5 dollars for S&H.

I haven't tried this product but I have tried InnerMint and it's worked well for me. I had no idea a simple concept like chlorophyll could take care of the gas problems.

Devrom has been very helpful to me when needed. I found that anything I eat with sugar alcohols in it gives me horrible smelling gas. The Devrom at least gets rid of or drastically reduces the smell. It doesn't do a lot for the quantity of gas so I usually use Gas-X along with it. Between the two I can get very good relief. However, I've found that staying away from the sugar alcohols has pretty much been just as effective. So if I want something sweet I opt for the real sugar and just eat smaller amounts. But I will still always keep the Devrom around, just in case.
