Question:
Can't find any protien

Hi, I'm now 17 days post op and have lost 21 lbs in the first 1 1/2 weeks but nothing since, I've been reading up on plateaus and were told that if you up your protien intake you will break the plateau, well the problem I have is I live in England and there isn't many protien supplements on the market, the only one I could find was a soya chocolate powder, which tasted disgusting and made me sick, is there any other way for me to up my protien intake without using supplements?, I also can't tolerate meats, milk or cheese. Thankyou Jeni    — Jeni M. (posted on December 7, 2002)

Hi Jeni, I order mine online at www.advnut.com, I use Optimum Nutrition's Pro Complex. It comes in Chocolate, strawberry & vanilla. I haven't tried strawberry yet, I love chocolate. I also love to mix chocolate & vanilla, its kind of like a malt. It has 60 grams of protein per serving. I make a glass in the morning and drink on it all day(per my surgeons orders). Good Luck...

I found the after surgery (til about 8 weeks post op) I could not tolerate ANY type of protein drink, at all. Then they not only tasted better but did not send me rushing tothe bathroom. Go to www.musclesurf.com My favorite is by American Sports Nurtition~ American Whey- banana flavor-(it is comparable to Pro Complex nutritionally) is is not the cheapest, but I think it is the tastiest- It mixes easily in milk or water- no clumps or after taste-. www.eatinghealthyforlife.com has a comparison of protien drinks listed- by cost per serving and protein

I found some chocolate shakes in the pharmacy section at walmart that only have 115 calories, 15 grams protein and 2-3 grams of sugar. These are the best I have tasted so far. They are made by Edge EAS.
