How much protein do we need a day as a bypass patient?

At the very LEAST 60g protein.

My surgeon's guidelines are 60 to 85 grams.... but I try to get in between 100 and 110 grams. I understand that you have less hair loss when you keep the protein just a little bit higher.

A normie needs about 60-75g depending on physiology and activity. Add in the malabsorption and we need quite a bit more. I aim for at LEAST 90-100 minimum.

I'm 17 months out and need 100-120 grams a day. Protein is the key ingredient for RNYers. Never thought I could consume that much protein but I do, but with the help of protein supplements. Although I lose hair starting around 3 monts out, my hair is excellent condition now, and I know protein has been the reason.

My surgeon wants me to have 90 a day and I only had the lapband. But it is working so I do it. Mostly using Isopure. Good luck and Happy New Year.

Minimum for men is 70+. I run and workout daily, so I need to try and get at least 110-120. I have a lot of trouble gwtting that in and have run into trouble with muscle wasting that's why having a liquid protein source comes in handy.

So we have to count all protein intake? How do you all get 100-120gms of protein a day? I really need the suggestions here, having the Roux EnY gastric bypass on Dec. 29th.
