Question:
Does the double chin skin shrink back?

I guess I am considered a 'lightweight' with one of the lower qualifying BMI's, but I have a super-size neck with no chin. I am an apple. So I was curious to what happens to the big neck after weight loss, is there saggy skin? I have not seen anything on this topic or anyone mentioning a "neck lift".    — Cheri M. I am an apple too! I weighed 278 at my surgery and my face was very full and I didnt have a neck. Of course I didnt realize how bad it was until now when my brother emailed me some pictures from 1 month pre op! I have already lost 45 pounds and my chin and neck are so much thinner it is amazing... I look like a different person. My skin is tight and smooth with no sagging which is excellent because I am 39. I hope all of my skin is as elastic and shrinks with me! Also I lost so much weight off my back and chest... that is where I see it the most. My stomach was very bloated for weeks after my lap RNY but now I am really losing inches. Good luck with your surgery... and remember to walk walk walk... it helps with your skin tone as does all the water you will be chugging.

That's a question I was going to ask but never got around too. Anyway, I hope the weight loss will get rid of my double chin and I'd love to see "if" I have an Adam's Apple. ;) I did notice that (at 2 months post op) in one of my digital pictures, I actualy look like I have a "slight" cleft in my chin. Cool! ;)

My double chin went away completely..and I started out at 278. I can not believe how much my face has changed. My features are so much sharper now instead of round, and best of all no sagging skin (at least where my chin and neck are concerned) and no more double chin.

I started at 278 and was 50 yrs old. also an apple (I think)anyway , my double chin is gone! And I don't have a lot of saggy skin. I did use a product called revitalift slim by loreal. And took my protein and vitamins and water faithfully. I have pictures on my profile page.

Hi, one thing I have noticed about my weight loss and other people with whom I work with and their weight loss is we seem to lose weight from the face down. The weight seems to come off all over but the top weight seems to go very quick. So there is a good chance your double chin will go fast. I also have a double chin. It will never go away completely because of those darn genes.

No matter the product name, Omega 3 fish oil works wonders in regard to loose skin and stretch marks as well. I use a product called OmegaPlex and I look mah-velous. There's hope, kids, we can look good again.

The real truth is that there is no way of predicting how your body will adjust to weight loss. Your double chin just might be the first thing to go....on the other hand.....you get all the way to your goal weight and never lose the double chin. Certainly no lotions, potions, oils or salves will help. You just have to wait and see. In my own case, I've lost 130lbs. and I'm within 30 pounds of my goal weight. I'm pretty thrilled. But, that 30lbs. is all in by butt! I had "big one" before my surgery and it's still a "big one". Similar story with my best friend. She's down to 150lbs. but now she looks 5 months pregnant because she didn't lose a lot of her stomach fat. It's not an "apron" (she'd feel better if it were....), it's just a fat tummy. We're both thinking about liposuction.

I've lost about 175#. My double chin is all gone, but I have managed to gain a wattle. yuk. A throat lift is definitely in my future! However, it's nice to be able to wear necklaces again & I figure everyone's looking at my cute collar & shoulder bones, not my wattle. I just keep telling myself this... :)
