Question:
Trans Continenal Modeling --- SCAM! Beware!

This is more of a comment than a question, but I felt like it needed to be posted for all members of this website to see. Today, I received an email from someone named "Tammy" claiming to be a WLS patient who was a scout for a modeling agency. Upon checking out this company on the internet, I found out that it is nothing more than a scam. What a shame it is that someone would prey upon people who have self-esteem issues, who have been ridiculed by society for all/most of their lives because of their weight. Many of us have dreamed about being beautiful, the kind of women that COULD appear in magazines and promotional ads. Honestly, I can say that this is not something that I had ever considered before today, but after receiving the email, decided to check out this company. After reading dozens of websites, including numerous Better Business Bureau sites, I can tell you that this is a major scam. I can only hope that no one who participates on this site, searching for help and information, will fall prey to such evil practices. I apologize in advance for this not being a "question", but I wanted everyone to know that such a thing was going on and to beware of any predatory emails sent to our members. Best wishes to you all! Lots of love! ~Lori~    — Lori B. (posted on March 12, 2003)

Thank you for your post. I'm glad you've put this in the questions as this is good info to be in the library.

Thanks for the post. It is really sad that people would scam others in our position just like you said. This is one of those reasons why I think you should be a member of this site before being able to check out the posts and profiles of people, don't you think? Because anyone can see what we post, it is just that non-members cannot answer or post things themselves- still can view it. Just a thought.
