Just a response here. . . I had/have a lot of problems with plateaus. It seems like I lose 10 pounds or so then stop. I think you might want to try increasing your food intake. Try eating a little more, a little more often. You don't have anything in your profile, so I don't know what a typical day for you would be. Why not try eating your 3 meals and adding a something like some cheese and wholesome crackers in for snack once or twice a day in addition to your protein? I know there are a lot of people out there who say when you hit a plateau to increase the water (which IS true) increase the protein (again - true) and cut the carbs. I notice that when I add a couple of good carbs in I tend to start burning a little better. Other than this it's pretty much trial and error. Good luck and hang in there! Pam P.S. You're doing great. Our stats are very similar and you are way ahead of where I was at 9 weeks!

I know it can be frustrating! The previous post was right though...you really need to eat something. Even if it's just 3, 2-4 tablespoon, meals a day...preferrably protien. You could also try upping your water to to 80-100 ounces...which may, or may not, help. The 60 grams of protien sounds good...but, again, it wouldn't hurt to throw one more drink in there a day - just to see if you can get things going. Also, I remember when I was a few months out and would seem to exercise and not lose anything...or jsut as much as if I didn't exercise...it was so frustrating...BUT...your body needs time to adjust to your new routine and in the end, you will be happy you hung in there and exercised...it really does pay off! Just make sure that you get your heart rate up during those walks. Last, but not least, you could always try adding some weight training. There are a lot of things you can even do with 5-10 pound dumbells that will start building some muscle...which in turn will raise your metabolism some...which, in the long run, helps burns more fat. Hang in there...your really only just beginning!

EAT MORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I went from 250 calories to about 600 a day and FINALLY broke my 3 week long plateau!

Are you not eating because of problems (nausea, grouchy pouch, possible stricture, etc) or because you think it will help you lose weight faster? You need to eat to lose weight. Not eating will slow your metabolism, and if you are exercising that much, you need to eat. Your poor body is in shock, it doesn't know when it will get good nutrition AND you are asking it to do something it probably hasn't done in a while - EXERCISE!! If it's not freaked out wondering when it's next meal is coming from it will calm down and start burning some fat for fuel.

Don't worry too much. I went on a plateau about 2.5 months out that lasted around 3 weeks where I didn't lose a pound, then suddenly within 3 days I lost 10! One thing some others mention to restart weight loss is to go back to the basic liquid diet for a few days. To restart my weight loss I started taking in more protein, about 80-90 grams a day, and increased water intake to about 80 ozs. I also started going to Curves and doing a hard workout three days a week. I haven't gone that long again without losing so far and I'm 4.5 months out.
