Question:
started loosing again (from 218 to 125 in 7 month, now 125 to 110 in weeks

I had RNY surgery (laparascopy) in march 2002. Had no problems and with in 7 to 8 month I had lost almost 100 lbs. I had many of the mental problems and adjusting periods but eventually everything settled. I was able to consume a healthy normal meal, and enjoy some treats (no sugar of course). My problem startes a few weeks ago around January/February I have started loosing wight again I am down to 110. That would not be a problem because I am only 5' tall, but I feel weak, tired, and I have to force myself to eat. I am starting to worry. Can anybody relate and give me some feedback. Thanks.    — Martharalonso (posted on April 19, 2010)

Sounds like you need to get some labs done, especially your thyroid. When your thyroid has issues, it can cause the symptoms that you're describing. Of course, so can a lot of other things, so....getting a complete lab workup is priority one. Then, your primary care physician can take a look and maybe tell you what's going on, or will know what else to do to find out. This far out from your WLS surgery, I would doubt it's connected to that. Especially if you're feeling fatigued and tired and weak, and you've been eating all your protein and vitamins and stuff.

I must say again, Erika once again gives such wonderful advice. I agree totally with her. My thyroid meds had to be adjusted after my surgery as well.

I sometimes get weak but that is when i have to stop and really evaluate what I am doing. It is usually because I have not had enough protein or liquids. 110lbs sounds like a good weight for you, try to maintain that but eat healthy also.

Hi, 2 years ago I dropped weight and didn't realize it so much, as I am an airline employee and constantly on the run at the gate area. I found myself out of breath and started getting weak even though I continued to push my self. I shrugged it off as being out of shape. i got the the baggage scale and realized fully dressed in uniform, I weighed 106. I am 5'3" and was told by coworkers I looked grayish. I felt a little disoriented and very tired. they told me to go home and ended up an ambulance had to come and get me from work. My hemoglobin had dropped to a 5.5, when it should have been between 12-16. I wasn't reproducing red blood cells and needed 4 pints of blood, so with all this said, please go get yourself checked. I worked and worked thinking it was nothing and turned out I was on the short path to all my organs shuting down. I am now back up to 125 and feel great. Iron doses daily and all is well. Good luck to you.

You sound like you have a medical issue that needs to be evaluted by your Primary Care Provider. Please do not wait.
