Since my RNY in 09 I have had bouts on trouble falling asleep....rarely an issue staying asleep; so I read up on suppliments and discovered Melatonin. It is natural to our bodys and sometimes falls below optimal levels. I began taking 1-2 mg about 1/2 hour before bed and have not had this issue since......good luck.

I do not know how old you are, but if you are in menopause, that will cause sleep problems as well. My regular Dr told me I MUST get my rest, so I do take a sleeping pill, if I don't I am up all night long. I have had issues since menopause. Good luck!

Since I had my surgery in November 2010, I have noticed the same problem. It is because you now have more energy because of the weight loss. I admit that it sometimes is a problem when I know I have to get up early the next day, but I still feel better than before I had the surgery.

I also have had sleep problems. My dr. reduced my thyroid medications. I take a allergy pill at bedtime to help get to sleep. I am on cpap for sleep apnea with oxygen at night. My nights go from about 9:00 p.m. to about 4:00 a.m. when I get up with the dogs.
