Question:
Am I through losing?

I am now 10 mo. out and it has been a month since I have been to the Dr. for a weigh in. I weighed at home last week and showed to have lost another 7 lbs. since then, but then I weighed yesterday at home and I am back up 4 lbs. What is going on? I have lost around the 100 lb. mark, but now I seem to be back up. What can I do? I guess I just need some encouragement. I don't get the water, protein, and exercise like I am supposed to do, so if I do this, will the losing pick back up? My goal is to lose 150 lbs. and I am barely doing the 100 lb. mark. I also seem to crave sugar more, what is that all about?    — teedegee (posted on March 14, 2005)

Hey Teena, don't want to be harsh here but it sounds to me as if you know what you need to do. Water, protein, exercise.........that's what it's all about. There is a honeymoon period when those things don't matter so much but that period can end pretty early for some of us and then it's all about working at it. No one can know if the losing will pick back up if you follow the "rules" but you'll have to do that for sure if you plan to keep the weight off. The only way I know of to stop the craving for sugar is to stop eating it..........I'm the same way with bread. If I eat anything with white flour, I'm hungry all the time so I just avoid it 99% of the time. 100 pounds is awesome and good luck in getting back to basics.

Do the protein, water and excercise and you will pick up again. That is about where I started having some more "work" added to the loss. I just came off a 6 week standstill so i'm down 110 but I too know what i need to do.

I'll be four years out in August, and if I go back to basics, I can still lose weight. So yes, you can get back on track. Up the protein and water, drop all foods with white sugar or white flour. Review the pouch rules to make sure you're giving yourself the best chance of success.

Just want you to know, I did everything and didn't reach goal. However, I feel great and think I look fine. I just have to accept that things are not perfect. God Bless.
