Question:
Can pre-op use clothing exchange?

I am in desperate need of a winter coat(Sz. 22/24)I think the "EXCHANGE" is for only Post-op, I will be using this site to list my undergrown clothes in the future as well as my Mom's pre-op clothes(sz.26-32) I am currently waiting for surgery and can't afford to buy a coat for the winter(been out of work for last year with back problems),especially since I won't need it next winter!!(SMILES) Can someone let me know if it is appropriate to receive clothes through the exchange while I am still pre-op?? I will gladly return/list clothes in the near future!!! Thanks!    — Kelly W. (posted on November 14, 2002)

I don't know if there are any "rules" about that. Besides this site is for support of the "morbidly obese", not just post ops. Personally I've sent clothes I've shrunk out of to people who've not yet had the surgery and were quite desperate for clothes. I think its wonderful you'll be contributing. Before losing weight I listed clothes that I'd saved for when I got thin. I realized there were others who could use these clothes now, when I wasn't. Then when I dropped sizes I listed the clothes I'd shrunk out of too. Personally I think its OK. I'm sorry I can't help with the coat. Maybe someone will chime in here for you.
