Question:
How does a hernia repair affect pregnancy

I want to have a baby in a year or so. I have a huge incisional hernia that I want to get repaired ASAP, but before getting a TT. I'm not done losing yet (I hope)! How does having a hernia or having had a hernia repair affect pregnancy, if at all?    — Robin O. (posted on June 19, 2002)

I'm having my Hernia Repair on July 12th, and I actually asked the same question to my doctor. He said to let the incision heal completely before pregnancy and also to wait at least 4 months before tummy tuck. So I'm planning my tuck for december 2002 and then a whole year to get pregnant just to let my skin readjust after 2 surgeries and a tuck. Good Luck.
