Hi Bekka,
I had a revision from vbg to rny due to SLD. However, I had gained back a lot more weight (almost all). The loss was very slow at first, but as I recovered from the surgery, I was able to move a lot more and exercise and the loss picked up. Now, with you only needing to lose 30 pounds, you may have to work the tool more than someone who is a surgery “virgin” and who has a lot more weight to lose. But if you work at it you can lose that 30 pounds. The reason most revisions lose slower is that the initial weight loss after surgery is due to the restriction from the small pouch, since we have a small pouch to begin with we don’t have the huge “whoosh” of weight loss. As we heal and the malabsorption kicks in, we keep losing at a steady pace. It may take you 6 months or longer to lose that 30 pounds, but if you follow the rules, you can do it.
Good Luck.

Hi, I dont know if this is possible but could they just do the AGB on you since you have such a small amt of wt to lose?I dont see how he can guarantee that you wont lose too much and it seems like it would be difficult as you would have to constantly adjust your eating to maintain your wt. Lap Band would be perfect because you can fill the band until you lose the amt you need and then release it once you are done. Lisa F
