Question:
Can you help us teach people about email signoff tags?

Hi. I just added a new profile page URL which was shorter in length. This is to make it easier for people to add signoff tags to their emails. Please read about it here:<a href=http://www.obesityhelp.com/morbidobesity/aboutsignofftags.phtml>http://www.obesityhelp.com/morbidobesity/aboutsignofftags.phtml</a>. What I need from you all are instructions about how to adjust your email system to automatically place a signoff message tag at the end of every outgoing email. If you have any experience with how to do this, please post an answer to this question. Begin your post with the name of your system (i.e., AOL, Outlook Express, Eudora), followed by detailed instructions about how to set up automatic including of ending tags. Thank you for your help.    — ericklein (posted on July 17, 2000)

I use Outlook Express, and they call this a signature. In other words, a little chunk of text that you can add to the bottom of every e-mail message or just selected messages. Open Outlook Express, and click on "tools" at the top. Choose "options", then the "signatures" tab. Click the "new" button, then type in the text of your signature. Check the top box if you want to add this signature to all outgoing messages. (Click "OK" when you are done creating a signature) You can add the signature to individual messages by choosing "insert", then "signature", after you have typed a message.

I use AOL, and they call this a signature. In other words, a signature or small text block that you can add to the bottom of every e-mail message or just selected messages. Open AOL (write) on 5.0 far left of new email form look for button that has a pencil logo on it.. Click on that select SET UP SIGNATURES, then type in the text of your signature. Choose a color and font and text.. (Click "Create" when you are done creating a signature) You can add the signature to individual messages by choosing "default on/off", it will automatically be on all you out going email... any posting I do on AMOS I proof it on an email form because it has spell check feature LOL then it puts my signature on it automatically each time.... Most of you that have received mail from me saw a heart with a rose in the center with my name.. That was accomplished by using this program..

I use webtv and it is also called a signature w/ them. You go to your mail box, hit settings, hit signature, then a little box will pop up for you to type your stuff. Everytime you email, there wll be a place at the bottom of the letter to turn the signature off if you want to.

I use the same proceedure everyone else does with Outlook Express. But I answer a lot of messages on e-groups mailing lists rather than using Outlook Express. I have a signature under the drafts section of my Outlook Express which I highlight and copy every day when I sign on the Internet. Then when I type a message I can simply paste the signature at the end. Any time I copy and paste something else I have to go back and re-copy the signature but it allows me to use the signature on things like this message for which I am not using OE.
