Question:
I am having severe cramping and diarrhea after eating.

I had RNY in February, 2000. I have been pretty much able to eat anything without problems. Sunday night I had severe cramping and diarrhea, along with a fever, chilling, aches and pains everywhere. I figures I had the flu. That was Sunday and today is Thursday. I'm still having the same problems, with my temperature ranging from 100 to 103 (usually the 103 is at night). I went to my PCP today and he did a urinalysis and said he believed I had a kidney infection and prescribed some medication. Would a kidney infection cause such me to have severe cramping and then diarrhea after I eat anything? Should I be concerned it might be related to the surgery? Any advice is very welcome! Sandy...just a thought...if he gave you a very strong antibiotic...they can sometimes cause cramping and diarreah. Get on the computer and check out the meds you are on for possible side effects. Hope you feel better soon.
