Question:
What are these pea shaped lumps on my thighs?

I am seven months out with a loss of 90 pounds. Recently I have noticed, especially in my thighs, small, pea sized lumps all over my thighs. When I press a spot they are sore. What has caused this and will it go away?    — Jens_mom (posted on May 29, 2002)

Try looking in the AMOS library. I seen this question asked before, but don't remember the answer. However, it wasn't a big deal.

I looked in the library and wasn't able to find anything that seemed appropriate. I'm not a doctor and have never played one on tv but....my guess is that they may be calcified fat deposits. Whatever they are I doubt they are anything serious but to put your mind at ease you really should go see your PCP. I'm curious to know, please let me know what you find out!

Susan, I agree with Sonya. I am 7 months post op and down 80 lbs. And altho I can't see them, I feel them. I think they are fat deposits also. I think the solution to this would be massage, as massage breaks down the fat. If I were to ever win the lottery or inherit alot of money, the first I would do is hire a masseuse! Or two. Congrats on your weight loss. I'm right behind ya, sister!
