I am 5'8" and started out at 268 the day of my surgery, my highest at one time was in the 280's so I was a little lighter. I am seven months post op. I am down 119 pounds, which is 19 pounds below goal for me. I went from a size 24 to a 4. I have pictures and kept a good weight history on my profile. The picture is about 20 pounds outdated, I was just about six months post op in that picture.

Michelle, I am 5'7" and weighed 287 my highest was 294. I had my surgery lap RNY on April 9, and I am down to 175 with a BMI of 27.4. I lost 100 lbs at about 6 1/2 months out and the remaining since. I walk 4 miles a day and the 1st 6 months I drank all my water (at least 60per day) but lately I have been slacking on the water and I have really slowed down. I am hopeing to be at goal before my 1 year. Best of luck to you. RK

Hi there! I am 5'8" tall and was 286 on the day of surgery (293 was my heighest weight). My surgery was on 3/18/02. To date I have lost 96 pounds. This seems to be slower than others with similar stats but I don't mind, just as long as it comes off. I would like to lose another 25-30 pounds. Good luck!

Hi Michelle, I am 5'9 1/2" tall, started out with a BMI of 44, had my open rny in June of 2001 and have lost 110 lbs so far. I plan to lose 30 more and then have a tummy tuck. We all lose at a different rate and I do not judge myself by others success or the lack of it. I am very pleased with my weightloss and I feel wonderful!! Good luck to you!!
