Question:
Has anyone tried the new Russell Stover low carb chocolate candies?

Hi, i tried the new russell stover's low carb candy, and it is the bomb. Does anyone have a problem with this candy. I think it is going to be the craze. Look at atkins and a few others. The cost isn't bad at all, but 1 package which has 2 candies in it, is very feeling. I love the peppermint patties. If there is another one i can try please let me know. They are fabulous, especially the toffee squares! My mom gave me some in my christmas stocking (instead of the traditional toblerone and chocolate orange *sigh*). I did find that eating them made me want to keep eating them, so I won't be buying any for a while. Valentine's Day is coming up tho, isn't it? Hmmmm... :P

They're delicious but, as does everything else, I dump terribly on them. I can eat maybe 1/3 of one but it still makes me feel nauseous. Just remember low carb doesn't mean no carb and they can add up.

I love the toffe squares! They hare very high calorie though so I have to REALLY limit myself. I think they are the best sugar free candy there is though.

I keep 2 boxes of these on hand at ALL times (LOL) one in my fridge and during cool weather, one in my car- They are only a treat,,,and I'll have maybe 2 pieces a week....ALSO, I went to my local Candy shop at the mall- I was suprised they had a sugar free section. The lady said most chocolate shops these days DO. They had a selection of about 20 different chocolates. I fell in love with almond bark and maple creams, I found them to be even a nicer quality them the boxed candies- MODERATION is the key to EVERYTHING. Last night I made myself a triple layer homemake chocolate cream cake with butter cream frosting..I set out plates for everyone, but not for myself- OF COURSE, I had my own fork and took a bite off someone elses plate (giggle) yummmmm funny now that I can't eat sweets I've taken up baking as a hobby- anyways, my point- these are SUPER..just use MODERATION. Best wishes Kim

I haven't tried these specifically, but if they're like all the other "sugar free" chocolates, they do contain sugar alcohols which can cause some people to dump or, as in my case, it's the quickest way to take care of a case of constipation if you know what I mean.

I tried one and all it did was make me crave MORE chocolate..I threw the bag away and have been fighting the *mental* battle the last few days..Candy can NOT be on my menu. sugar free or not..I have worked TOO hard to get this far...THey say this is the *easy way out* ...NO WAY.. best of luck to you

Love Russell Stovers sugar free ....however...I had the day after Christmas off I went to the gym and worked out, came home and ate three pieces of candy and took a nap. I woke up to experience the first major dumping event since surgery. I was dizzy, sweaty, stomach cramps, chills etc it lasted about one hour. I've had stomach upset before but never all the other stuff at once.

I've tried them and they are very good, but a word of caution. If you're the personality type that can't leave candy alone, don't get started on stuff like this. You'd be in danger of sabatouging your weightloss. An occasional treat is nice, but just make sure you can handle having the stuff around. Sometimes I can handle it and sometimes, it's best to just have it gone.

I must be the odd ball out as I dislike all sugar free chocolates and think they taste horrible. Give me the real thing! The only sugar free candy I liked was a little candy store in Philadelphia at a food market near the train station....and since I live in Virginia, luckily its not an option! Like the others said, anything in moderation is OK. for some, even sugarless candy causes cravings for more and more and while it is sugarless, it still has lots of calories.

I like them, although if I eat more than one or two they can make me sick (nausea, loose bowels). However, I find that it makes me crave candy in general, so I've had to avoid them. Bummer.

Out of all the SF candies that I have tried, I like Russell Stover the best. The mint patties are indeed very good and so are the Pecan Delights...taste just like a Turtle! I've only gotten to eat one of the two that comes in the package (my kids always want one) and so I've had no dumping from them. They do make a very nice treat for when you just have to have a bite!

I just eat regular chocolates. I just have one or two, max when I crave them. I am not much for sugar-free deserts. I'd rather have a taste of the real thing. A friend of mine said Reese's makes SF peanut butter cups now. And she swears by them.
