I'm only 16 days post and I'm starting to eat some foods that aren't full liquid. And when I eat too much or too fastI get the same thing. I start burbing and up comes the foam. Not the most pleasant experience. I guess it's a good reminder I'm not doing exactly what I should. Joann

The doctor told us at the support meeting that some people's new pouches produce an excess amount of mucus at first. I had this problem too but at about 3 months out it stopped for the most part. Occasionally I still seem to have a little foam when I get sick.

Hi Dawn: Good news. The difficulties early post op don't last too long. I had a rough second and third month, and then never really had anymore trouble. What I found the two times I threw up was that if you spit out that foam instead of swollowing you'll feel a lot better. It's a pain, but that's my suggestion. Hope that helps. S

Hi Dawn...i can relate totally of what your going thru. The last few weeks have been hell on me with the foam. But with me its acid reflux thats causing it. No matter what i eat it burns I ended up getting a prescription from my surgeon for a liquid medication...its a god sent. Just hoping it cures itself and i don't have to keep on the stuff. My advice is to check into this acid reflux because you don't need to suffer. Good luck to you

I am just 2 months out and up until 2 weeks ago I was getting the burning and foaming in my throat with alot of the foods I ate. They have stopped now so just hang in there, it does get better. Lisa

I also have the foam problem. At times it gets very irritating but once it comes up I am fine. I have my 4 week checkup next week so I am going to talk to the doctor I will post what he suggests. JoAnn

Yea, I have the foaming thing. At the hospital my Surgon gave me something like GasX liquid to kill it, since for me it was a combination of my saliva being fairly thick and being gaseous at the same time. That cured it. I am hoping it's not a forever thing and that it'll go away soon. I had some yesterday and yes the best thing is to just spit it out. it won't go away if you swallow it. The Zantac my MD perscribed after I left the hospital helped a bit, but it's NASTY stuff. I'd rather just spit the foam. :oP Today it hasn't been an issue, so time will tell.
