Question:
What are some of your High Protein meals?

Tomorrow I will be 4 weeks post op and so far, I have had little to no difficulty eating. For as long as I can remember I have always been a fruit and veggie craving gal, but now that I need to increase my protein intake, I am running out of ideas of what to cook or make. I was hoping you all would share some of your High Protein "Favorite Meals/Recipe" or point me to a sight that may have what I am looking for. I find that at the moment I am searching for variety. Also, how do you calulate your protein intake? Thanks for your help!    — Kim M. (posted on November 1, 2001)

http://recipe-chicken.com/ this is one of my favorite recipe sites for chicken. If you scroll on down to the bottom you will see a bunch of other recipes. My favorite high pro meal is very simple. I cut chicken fine. I scramble an egg then swirl in the bottom of a nonstick pan wiped lightly with oil until the egg is very thin and cooked. I put shredded cheese in the middle of the egg, then the chicken, sometimes I mix chicken and whatever else I have left over, thinly sliced pork, you get the idea. I add some spinach, some salsa, and roll up the egg like a burrito. If I have leftover refried beans I have a tbs or two on the side. the pro is coming from the egg, meat, beans. Best of luck,

I love chicken and broccolli stir fry. I marinade the chicken in cornstarch and soy sauce. Then I cook it with the broccolli with a little pam and a little chicken broth instead of oil. I also like Tofu Crumble (in your veggie dept. of your store) in chilli, or tacos or anything with ground sirloin or beef. I love a good grilled chicken salad and you can find chicken breast in water--in the section where the tuna is...loaded with protein. I also like these sites for recipes. www.conceptz.net/weight2go and http://freewill.tzo.com/~jamie/

I really enjoy a small salad topped with cheese and seafood. Especially imitation crab meat and shrimp. I haven't figured out how many grams it is. Being a salad a person could top it with just about anything like chicken, taco meat, tuna. It can be customized to your mood and taste. Something else really good is a boneless chicken breast topped with season salt and some shreaded cheese.
