I also have got the same problem, but with my right upper leg. I had Open RNY on August 21, and my surgeon said that it is caused by the length of time that you are lying on the table without any movement. However, my PCP said that it sounds like it could possibly be a pinched nerve and that it could be a few months before it gets back to normal. I have an appointment with my surgeon on Friday and will talk to him more about it. Good luck!

After my surgery, I had numbness in my foot that was very uncomfortable. I thought I would have to live the rest of my life this way. My doctor told me it was most likely a pinched nerve. After about two months it went away. Hopefully that is all you are experiencing and it too will go away. Best of luck!

They strap us down tight to the operating table, and this often causes a pinched nerve. Mine affected my bum, which was numb and hurt but went gradually away after a month or so. Real bothersome at first though.

I had the exact same thing happen - left leg would wake me up with the burning pain. A quick trip to my chiropractor took care of it. I still use a heating pad on it time to time when it flares up again. Smile, you'll live thru it.
