Question:
For those who are ANEMIC...

For those who are anemic....did you have symptoms...and was one of them becoming lightheaded or dizzy after standing up? I haven't had a problem since having an open rny....except for this which has only recently come...sometimes when I stand up I get dizzy for about 5-10 seconds. Anyone know what this might be? i HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM AND ALSO THOUGHT IT WAS ENEMIA. HOWEVER THE DOCTOR TOLD ME i HAD POSITIONAL VERTIGO. GO TO WWW.WEBMD.COM AND SEARCH POSITIONAL VERTIGO AND SEE IF IT FITS YOU AS WELL. IN NOT, SEE THE DOC!!

Anemia does cause this symptom. Also, dehydration (even slight), constipation, and allergies that have affected your sinuses or inner ear. Anemia is a good guess post-op. Have your Hemoglobin checked to see. If it is low, the doctor may want to up your Iron intake for a while to get those stores built back up. You may also benefit from a B12 injection. You will never believe how much energy they give you. Good Luck.

Oh yeah, dizziness can also be caused when your BP drops suddenly. In some people it is very common for their Blood Pressure to drop upon rising.

If you are still on Blood Pressure medication, check with your doctor. Could it now be too strong for you?
