Question:
3 months post op and weight lose seems to have stopped. What do I do?

I will be 3 months post op on the 5th of December. I have lost 60lbs. I am so happy about that lose but I seem to be at plateau. Does anyone have any advice on how to kick the weight lose back into action. Please let me know what all of you have done when this happened. Thanks    — Diane B. (posted on November 25, 2000)

I add an extra protein supplement per day (so from 60g a day to 90g a day), made with water, but not juice or milk. And an extra glass of water. It doesn't take much to convince your body that there is plenty! lots! more than enough! resources available, so it's OK to spend some calories. But do it for 2 weeks, so convince your body that there is oodles of nutrition going on here.

Have not worry, we all go through this, as I found out much sooner than you have. Infact i did alot of research on it when i did not loose anything for a week, i was devestated. But i have to agree with the first responce you got back. Your body is in a panic from the weight you have already lost. Just wait it out, I tried to eat a little more often, i just ate less, and it worked. Based on what i have found via research, some people can expect a plateu about every 3 to 4 weeks. and leave it up to my body to follow that. I have lost about 47 lbs since my surg on 9-19-00 and i am at my 2nd plateau, Yeah it's the pits but its only temporary. And i bet you will see a diff. in how your clothes fit even if the scale is not going down, your weight sorta shifts around. Just think about how great you have done so far, we all know it did not come on over night. Besides if you lose it to fast you may have loose skin. this way it give you time to tone up some. Keep up the good work Barbara
