Question:
Does crystal light or iced tea count as your daily water intake?

I drink a lot of both during the day, but I am not actually getting in just water, is this ok and will these count for the water. Also I have a question about eating. When I first was post op I would have to wait some time in between bites or I would get upset stomache, now I am 2 months post-op and find that I can pretty much eat normally. Is this bad, am I harming my pouch?    — Arlene V. (posted on January 19, 2002)

According to BTC....YES! Even popsicles and soup etc are counted as your daily liquid intake.

As long as the tea is decaf, it counts. If it has caffiene in it, the tea will actually help your body get rid of water as it is a natural duretic.(Spelling?)

To add to what the previous poster said, you do NOT want to drink liquids that are diuretics. One of the reasons for getting in all that water is to keep you from being dehydrated. However, non-caffeinated tea, and sugar free drinks like Crystal Lite and sugar free Kool Aid, are counted as part of your daily water intake.
