Question:
When will my first plateau end?

Operated Dec.13th, lost 33 lbs, today starting the third week of my plateau I started the treadmill and am more active than when I lost weight and now I feel that I am the lucky one that this operation won't work for!    — elaine27 (posted on February 5, 2003)

Yes it will work for you!! You are doing great. This is just your body's way of catching up. Just make sure you get your water in as well as lots of protein. The plateau will end. Take your measurements, you are more than likely losing inches even though you aren't losing weight. Hang in there, it will end and you will be losing again.

We are in the SAME BOAT! I had my surgery on December 11, and I've lost 32 pounds. It's SO FRUSTRATING! I haven't lost any in 3 weeks either! Sheesh! I started back to the gym almost 2 weeks ago, and that hasn't helped yet. I know the scale will move but it's hard to trust that this surgery will work.

I had my RNY on Dec. 5. I lost 30 pounds so far since surgery, and this has included 2 plateaus and even a gain of 3 pounds at one point. I lost 25 of those pounds in the first 4 weeks. Coincidentally (or maybe not) my weight stopped coming off about the time that I got really serious about daily workouts.
