Bariatric Institute of Palm Beach County Bariatric Center

I have known Dr. Colletta for over 15 years and have the greatest respect for his abilities. He is a kind, compassionate, and a very intelligent doctor. If there were any negatives during this experience they were certainly overruled by the peace of mind I got feeling that I had the "best" surgeon with great skills. Nothing else was more important than my peace of mind. Because I had such confidence in my surgeon I did not have any surgical anxiety.
Dr. Colletta took great care to explain the surgery procedure and risks and made sure I understood everything. But he also reassured me that any and all concerns or problems would be addressed by calling the office or the 24 hour cell line. He even called me at home post-op himself to inquire as to how I was feeling. During my pre-op visit there was also great emphasis on the post op requirements of exercising and nutrition. And the fact that there is a nutritionist in his office makes that part much easier.
I was very satisfied with my experience and would highly recommend Drs. Colletta and Klein to anyone contemplating a bariatric procedure or any other surgical procedure.

When I first met Dr. Klein I thought he was a very kind doctor. Great bedside manners. I was worried of finding a doctor that cared alot about their patients. I was treated so well that if I ever need anything all I have to do is call him at his office. You get a response on the same day.
I would send anyone to Dr. Klein.
His office is very organized and remembers you when you come in. Your not a number.

First impression is he and his partner Dr Colletta are very professional. They were both at the Cori seminar at Boca Raton and explained the procedure extensively. They have only done about 30 gastric bypasses but are excellent surgeons. The both are there for the surgury. They have a great aftercare program. The program is new and probably has some glitches but I have found none yet. All the risks or surgery were addressed. As far as rating.... wait till after I have my surgury. I feel surgical competence is more important than bedside manner. I have my PCP for the bedside manner. Also, being a nurse I realize most surgeons don't have great bedside manners.
I am currently 4 days post-op, Dr Klein was great. I can't express in words how wonderful he and his staff have been. Both bedside manner and surgical competence were great. I would highly recommend him to anyone considering this surgury.

A. Very informative, makes sure that you know exactly what is going on at all times. Gives patients a folder of information with what to expect at different times durring the surgery and recovery.
Q. Does he/she have a structured aftercare program?
A. Yes. He requires that you are set up with a Nutritionist for one full year before you can schedule the surgery and wants to make sure that patients have established a excercise program for when they are able to work out.

A. Emphasizes it aftercare greatly, cannot schedule until you are set up with the Nutritionist let's you know that his office is always available when you need it.

A. I have only met him a couple of times, but I really like him and his staff. I look forward to having him as my surgeon.
Q. Which is better, surgical competence, bedside manner, or both great?
A. Both are equally important to me. I wouldn't want a great surgeon who I'd only see before surgery and in post-op appointments and likewise, I don't want someone who is always available, but isn't as competent as possible.
So far, don't have any negative experiences with Dr. Colletta.
