Dr. Newman is a very friendly, patient, and personable surgeon. I had my initial consult on February 13 and my final pre-op on September 25. Both times he answered all of my questions in great detail. My fears were discussed no matter how unpleasant they were.
The staff at Portsmouth seems really great. The nurse/case manager, Jan, is simply awesome. She does all the scheduling and managing of the 4 bariatric surgeons at Portsmouth. She's not only a professional, she's a "loser" as well.
I feel strongly that Dr. Newman is a Christian, through our conversation. That is a great comfort to me.
I think that Dr. Newman is an excellent doctor all the way around. He won't make things sound sweet & nice if they aren't that way. Sometimes maybe he's too honest.... ;-). I have great confidence in his abilities.
