Cleveland Center for Bariatric Surgery St Vincents Bariatric Center

My first impression of Dr. Schrieber was that he was very professional, possibly with a slight belittling of risks associated with the surgery. This has changed since seeing him in action. He has shown much concern about potential risks during my surgery and immediately post-op. His office staff is extreemly friendly and ready to help at the drop of a hat. Although, at times, they can seem a bit disorganized - especially as they become more in demand. I'll have to get back to you on the after-care bit, I've only been out of the hospital a few days...

Very honest and straight forward about complications. I appreciate the way he goes over everything.
Office staff is very busy, there was a mix up with my scheduled consultation, upon arriving I was told my appointment was a week before; However I had brought my faxed confimation with me and the Dr. did see me.
I went in with my approval from insurance, although it was with another Dr. Sherry did get the approval & we played phone tag for awhile. I have a verbal pre-op date of June 8th & surgery scheduled for June 26.
I am learning more about the after-care and I am impressed with the different programs the Cleveland Bariatrics Center offers.

I found Dr. Schreiber very knowledgeable and pleasant to work with. He explained the difference between my laporscopic surgery and its failure and how he could help me with an open RNY gastric bypass. I love his staff, they are always pleasant and helpful. Everyone explained the risks and benefits of having revision surgery and have worked with me for over one year in getting the details of my surgery completed. I will update this site post surgical after 4-19-2001 (when I return home and am up to it). I am very happy and looking forward to my new life. Please contact me with any questions or comments you have - I will exchange all information I can with you.

My surgeon was kind and very concerned about my physical as much as my emotional health his staff gives you the feeling that you are the only reason they are there. They know you by your first name and offer you all kind of help whenever day or night the office I went to is being profiled by the local news channels alot lately due their success. I have to say it is the surgeon and his staff that helped me feel okay with the drastic life altering decision. What I really loved about my surgeon and his staff is that at no time did they make me feel like it was a matter of life or death that I had the surgery. In fact they wanted to make sure I unerstood that the surgery was only there to assist me with my lifestyle change. They make you take a quiz on the dangers of the surgery and go over your answers they even supplied me with a diet regement for the first 3-6 months post-op. I give my surgeon and his staff an A+.

I met briefly with Dr. Sonpal as part of the initial consultation seminar at the Cleveland Center for Bariatric Surgery .... I found the staff to be very professional and "together" and the seminar was very detailed and informative as well as inspiring. I know from speaking to others and my research that Dr. Sonpal and Dr. Schreiber are very highly recommended and experts in their field ....in fact both of my referring doctors as well as my OB/Gyn ONLY wanted them to do the surgery ....as many of you may already know these two surgeons always do their wls surgeries together as a team ...so essentially you have 2 of the best people in the field performing your surgery and I think that's a comforting thought! After getting the paperwork submitted to the office I rec'd my approval letter in just 2 weeks! Sherry the staff member that deals with the insurance matters is wonderful! :o)

My first meeting was with Dr. Sonpal, he was very friendly and funny, he answered all my questions for me and then he asked me his, and of course I answered them. He made me feel very good about the decision I was making. Thanks Doc!
I also would like to thank Sherry for all her help anfd also Sandra for beiiing so sweet.
When I went for my first consult I was with a friend who was a year post opt, and so they were glad to see her plus she also spoke with the other people in the group, which I believed helped them also.
I also think it made me feel more confident to do this challenge.
I also felt that Sherry was great in answering the questions and helping tp prepare for the paperwork that had to go into the insurance, she sure knows her stuff. THANKS SHERRY!!

I liked him right off.
I still like him. He gave me a new life.
They are very caring.
The doctors will not beat around the bush.
They are straight forward. I like that.
They are very careful to make sure you follow-up.

They explaine very carefully at the meetings about the risks of the surgery , before you are ok'd for the surgery.
600% my life-saver (: )
