Dr. Sonpal was like a Angel ....He gave me my life back . Very polite and understanging of my needs. Excellent Surgeon. His office staff was great I felt very comfortable with everyone I can in contact with.
The least thing I didnt like about my surgeon is he is soooo skinny. ha ha ha

St. Vincents was a teaching hospital , I was advised in Pre testing what to eat during the whole time of my recovery period . what not to eat and what exerise program to be on . what vitamins I should take . Everything.
I would rate the whole experience as OUTSTANDING , From Dr. Sonpal to all his staff and the nurses were wonderful.

The only thing I could say negative is sometimes it takes the nurses a little time to answer the buzzer ...There are alot of patients. These are just my personal impressions.

I found Dr.Schreiber to be a very dignified individual, polite and very professional.
He was attentive to what I had to say and seemed to take a very detailed medical history from me. He answered my questions and made sure that I understood what takes place during the surgery, by having me explain how the procedure works and why it works. He put an emphasis on after care and explained the 60/40 formula for success. The Dr addressed the risks of surgery not just in an objective way but he also spoke about the risks that are related to my own set of medical problems, which impressed me.

The office staff was very polite and efficient. I appreciate the fact that I did not need a shoehorn to fit in the office chairs. Chris Unsinger was very pleasant and reassuring as she related that she was a former patient and was willing to share a part of her experience as a patient with me, even showing me her before picture. I was impressed by that. I was not real crazy about the florescent lighting in the office waiting room, I think incandescant lighting would give the office waiting room a more calming feeling upon entering, because the first trip to the office is a stressful event. All and all I left the office and the consult with Dr Schreiber feeling confident.

I will always be grateful to Dr. Sonpal for the new life I was given as of Nov. 28th, 2001. I am thanful for his talents that allowed me to lose 145 lbs. I am 15 lbs. from goal. Before I had the surgery it was a chore just moving around and I am amazed every day of the way my life has changed. Thank you Dr. Sonpal! I think Dr. Sonpal and the CCBS staff and doctors are the BEST!

7-1-03 TODAY WAS THE FIRST TIME I MET DR.SCHREIBER, OF COURSE I WAS NERVOUS AND HE ASKED ME QUESTIONS SUCH AS IF I KNEW EXACTLY WHAT THIS SURGERY MEANT, LIKE AS FAR AS FOODS THAT WILL MAKE ME GAIN THE WEIGHT BACK, AND IF I KNEW EXACTLY WHAT THE SURGERY CONSISTED OF, SUCH AS PROCEDURE AND I KNEW THE ANSWERS LIKE THAT, JUST ONCE HE ASKED, I WAS LIKE DUH!! DENSE WITH THE DUMMY HAT ON, I THOUGHT FOR SURE HE WOULD SAY NO, SINCE I WAS SO DUMB.!! BUT HE SAID I WAS A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR THE SURGERY, OTHER THAN THAT, HE WAS REALLY NICE AND VERY FORWARD, BUT IT'S EXACTLY WHAT I EXPECTED FROM HIM (FROM OTHER PROFILES I HAVE READ ON HIM)

I met with Dr I.M. Sonpal on 6/23/03. I found him to be very friendlly and helpful. He went over my history and then gave me the oppertunity to ask any questions. I have heard many good things about Dr. Sonpal and he lives up to all that I have heard. I know he is one of the best surgeons in the state and possiblly the country. For this I am trusting him with my life.

I met with Dr. Sonpal on June 16th and was totally impressed with him. I found him to be very warm and very funny!! Now that I've met him, I am much more at ease about this process. He answered my "list" of written questions I had brought with me! He seems to be confident that this will go well, so I guess I do too!
The office staff, especially Melissa and Diane, are great...BUT they are always busy. Sometimes it feels rushed, but it's not something they can help, they're just that overwhelmed with more people like me!

Dr.Scheiber was very up front and very kind.the office staff has been very knowledgeable,and helpful,and there to listen.my first visit with Dr.Scheiber was a long wait,about 2 hrs.,my husband and I didn't mind.We met some people that were waiting longer,and we made some new friends.
I know I'm in the right hands.And that things will happen for a reason.I'm hoping to have the bariatric surgery next year sometime,there is a waiting list until February.I don't mind,just would like to have it done.I've heard alot about Dr.Scheiber and he is good at what he does,and he has a very professional manner.
The staff at SVCH bariatrc center has been very helpful,and they really care.They treat me as a person not a number and would do anything to make it easier on you.
Latonya, Dr.Scheiber's assistant has been very helpful,I had a problem with getting some progress notes from my Doctor and she called them and they are going to send them out tomorrow!All the letters are in,except for my psych eval.and get approval from my insurance company.
Melissa the surgery scheduler is upfront & honest.But she knows how you feel and she will help anyway she can.

I was pleasantly suprised by Dr. Schreiber. I had read that he seemed to be all business, but I didn't have this experience. I felt very comfortable with him. I thought I wanted a more "warm & fuzzy" type of surgeon, but I think I am in capable and caring hands with Dr. Schreiber.

I found his office staff to be very efficient. I had origionally chose Ohio State to have my surgery, but got so discusted with their time frame and lack of communication that I decided to do my homework and switch to St. Vincent. I was approved for surgery in February and just a week ago heard from Ohio State. St. Vincent is much more on the ball and organized.

I really liked him. He's humerous yet he answers your questions seriously. I feel he is up front and very helpful.

I met with Dr. I.M. Sonpal for the first time on March 14, 2003. I found him to be very kind and easy going. I felt very comfortable with him and am very happy I made the decisiion to see him. He went through my history and asked me some general questions. He also wanted to make sure I was sure about having this surgery. I know I am going to be in good hands with him.
