Bariatrics and Medical Weight Loss Hamilton - Community Health Bariatric Center

keith mcewen saved my life. his office made the whole thing easy. not too easy but easy enough that i did not say forget it like i have before. it was a good thing. i paid so i did not have to deal with insurance. the hardest thing was two weeks of liquids before the holidays but I made it.rnrni searched doc and asked many of my friends.

Dr Keith McEwen was very nice. I liked his office. Everyone made me feel at ease. They are down to earth. The expectations are laid out on the table. I am going to group to meet other patients. About 8 patients responded to my request to talk with others who had paid for their surgery without insurance help. They all seemed honest.rnrn

Dr. McEwen was very knowledgeable about the procedure. WHen I went to a meeting on Lapband I did not know what to expect. But when Dr. McEwen starting talkin about the procedure he had me hooked.rnrnMy Impression of him has not changed.rnHis staff is funny, friendly and very nice.rnI think that patients should know that with Dr. McEwen, they will get a very qualified doctor and a very caring one also.rnEvery visit Dr. McEwen will discuss your progress. In my case I did not like execerising and he let me know that if I am to lose the weight faster that I need to exercise. There are monthly meetings held on the 1st Thursday of every month where you can get encouragement from other patients, receipes, and dietary advice. rnDr. McEwen, in my opinion told it like it was. He told the good and the bad and he gave out information with the good and the bad. For me the good out weighed the bad.rnOn a scale of 1-10 with 10 being excellent I would give him a 10.rnDr. McEwens surgical competence, and beside manners were great.

Thank you Dr Keith McEwen, Jessica, Alvin, and Cheryl. You have given me an opportunity to overcome my poor eating habits. I met Dr McEwen and his staff in June and my surgery was complete in August. No nonsense- just treated me like a normal person who needed help. Not like a freak show or baby. I paid for my surgery because my insurance excluded coverage. I am already saving money on eating out and glucophage rx is GONE after 20 pounds!rnwww.lapbandindiana.com

I have only met DR McEwen at the informational meeting. I rated his knowledge as excellent and he was good at explaining things. I have attended his support group meetings and I am moving toward my goal of lap band surgery.

ask your doctor how many lap band he has done? ask him why he does the lap band. ask him if he needed surgery for being heavy what procedure he would have done? Dr McEwen answered all those questions honestly to me. I consulted 3 other surgeons in the INDY area....seemed like the LapBand was something they added as an afterthought to their Roux en Y Clinics. It is the surgeon that operates...not a Clinic, Program, Hospital Network, Psychologist, or Center of Excellence...those are buildings, team members, TO ME THE SURGEON WAS THE IMPORTANT PERSON:)

Dr. McEwen and his entire staff are great. Dr. McEwen puts you at ease as soon as you meet him. He is so friendly and understanding. He explains the entire surgery to you step by step. You know exactly what will take place before you are operated on. For me this surgery was so easy. This very hansom man puts you to sleep and you wake up hours later and you can take sips of water. This sounds so child like, but it is true for me. I was a little afraid of surgery because this was my first. I woke up without pain and have been pain free until now, which is three weeks after surgery. My only pain was from the small incisions but that is minor. I had no trouble swallowing. I did not like the first few weeks of the diet but I did survive. I lost ten pounds. My worst part was waiting was the insurance company to approve my surgery( I was going to pay for it if they didn't). Then waiting for your surgery date, only 10 days. Time passes so slowly. I was supplied with movies online that take you step by step through the entire Lap Band procedure. I also receive them in writing to read over and over. They leave no stone unturned. They walk you hand in hand through everything from paying for the procedure to losing your weight. They are a phone call or e-mail away. They continuously call to check on you. They really do care. This staff works like a well-oiled machine.
