Dr. H is awesome, very calmed, clear and concise. His staff at the clinic is extremely prepared and professional. All of them were very clear on the benefits and risks of the surgery and explained in detail what the program was all about. I have ony two words for all of them THANK YOU !!!!

El Dr. Herrera es un excelente medico con carisma y cariño hacia sus pacientes. La impresión que tengo de su equipo es la mejor, ya que entre todos me han ayudado a sentirme segura y querida. Sobretodo a sentir que la obesidad es una enfermedad y que no todo ha sido mi culpa, que no es solamente porque me gusta comer que soy obesa.

In my first appointment with Dr. Herrera, he pointed out all of the benefits of the surgery, but also was very staightforward about the risks.
He and his staff are very skilled and familiar with the proceadure(other surgeons, a nutriologist and a psicologyst) and always behalved in a very proactive and caring manner, very aware of the physical and psicological changes I was going through.
Recently, Dr. Herrera and his staff, together with other Doctors, founded a Weight Clinic in a private hospital in Mexico City, very similar to a program in a Public Health Hospital they also work in. The clinic emphasizes an integral approach to obesity (nutrition, psicologycal care and aftercare). Dr. Herrera also encourages participation in a support group, of which I am part, lead by Maureen Mosti, a former patient of bariatric surgery as well as a Registered Nurse.

From the star I had a very good impression of him and his staff, they explained everything very well to me and gave a lot of confidence. He enphasized a lot about aftercare, actually he organized together with some of his patients a support group in which the psicologist, nutriologist and physical therapist that work with him participate.
He explained clearly the risks of surgery and specified to me clearly why I was a candidate for surgery.
BOth bedside manner and surgical competence are grat. Surgery was surprinsingly good, I couldn't believe the way I felt (as new) knowing what had been done!

Thanks to Dr. Herrera for the whole support. I know that everything will be OK.

Dr. H immediately struck me as a gentle, competent person who treats all with dignity. He is patient and kind. He and his surgical team are excellent clinicians. As he is in the process of relocating his office, I did not meet his staff. His office was excellent in getting copies of the surgery report to my home doctor who is doing the aftercare. Dr. H addressed the risks of surgery right up front in a very straightforward manner with time for any questions I had. His surgical competence and bedside manner would both be a "10" in my book.

In terms of aftercare, I wish I had left with a written list of recommendations. I shared this with Dr. H and it is my understanding that this is being developed.
