My first impression was. He was a kind caring person. whom takes his time to care for an individual. Listens to you, & goes through any lengh if he can to assist you. How did my impression chang over time. WOW I am alive & it is because of Dr. Goodman I am alive. I was going & heading to my grave, the Dr in Passaic NJ of St marys whom recomended me to Dr.Goodman could not do any thing for me any more, I was on a walker, could not sit,stand,laydown,get up,take a bath, with out the assistance of my husband.I had so much complications with my stomach it was not funny,pain in my legs,arms,thighs,back,couldn't go up,or,down the stairs, did not have a life to live. I was 315 pounds when I last left the Dr of Passaic today I am 200 pounds I can walk,jump,I eat small bowl of food, my stomach does not except any more today like before the surgery I had a plate of food nope & don't even miss it.I recomend everyone to Dr Goodman, He is great. He is a very caring Doctor, before care, after care as you state he is great. He always works along with you. surgical compitance, Or what ever manner that question was. Dr. Goodman deserves first prize for saving my life, & for giving me the confidance to go on, and the encouragement also. I meet Dr. Goodman for the first time yesterday. He is WONDERFUL. I have done much research about this surgery. Dr. Goodman is very knowledgable and a caring person. We spoke about trying to schedule my surgery in the beginning of May. I highly recommend him to anyone in the tri-state area considering this surgery. His staff is extremely nice in both his New York and New Jersey offices.

I thought he was very honest and trusted his judgement.

We have developed a very close relationship over the phone. I can call him anytime and he always finds time to return my calls and helps to calm whatever anxiety I am experiencing at the present time.

His office staff is very helpful and informative.

One thing that bothered me was that I didnot get professional nutritional help directly after surgery, however, he has remedied that.

Yes, he does emphasize aftercare.

During my first meeting I had to watch a video explaining the entire process of the RNY surgery. Literature was also sent to my home to preview before my first visit.

I give Dr.Goodman an excellent rating and I would absolutely recommend him.

His surgical competence and especially his bedside manner is great and bedside manner is very important to me, this was a very serious and different operation and I always and still do have lots of questions on a daily basis and it is nice to be able to depend on my Surgeon for answers...

I did have Dr. Sweet but he is way to busy. I saw his nurse and February and couldnt get an appointment with him until APRIL. So I contacted Dr. Goodman. Dr. Goodman is great. I e-mailed him and he e-mailed me back himself. Then he called me. I was alittle skeptical at first but found out he is a great doctor.

Where do I start??? Dr. Goodman is the BEST!!! I first met w/ him on 01-06-2000
and found him to be very kind and compassionate, and completely open to answer all your questions and address all of your concerns. Since our meeting, I've had lots of questions and concerns, and Dr. G answers my e-mails literally w/in minutes.
We reviewed all the risks and discussed all
the complications that can occur, so I knew
when I left his office just what to expect.
His office staff is great. Especially Nydia. It was always nice to call his office and she always knew who you were.
Dr. Goodman get "TWO THUMBS UP" And like his name says he truly is a Good Man.

Dr. Goodman is very caring and passionate to your needs. He always emails,calls back when you call. Very helpful in everyway.

My impression never changed for the worse only the better. He kept my husband informed when I had trouble after. And checked up on me when I came home and went back in the hospital. I have NEVER met a more caring doctor than him.

The ofice staff is wonderful as well. Always want to help and get you the answers you are looking for.

I didnt find anything negative about either his staff or Dr. Goodman.

If you should choose Dr.G. you will be in very good hands. he takes care of his patients before and after.

Dr.G. has been helpful with answering all the questions about the after care. I had trouble after I came home and has always helped me to get back on the right track. he stressed that it is important to take the vitamins and what I will need to do for myself to make this work. He explained the complications of before and after. And during that time I did have trouble was always there to answer questions or just to give a warm smile.

If I had to rate Dr.G. from a 1 to 10, 10 being the best I would give him in all honesty a 10. I will always be grateful for what He has given to me, my life back.

I met Dr. Goodman on 12/2/99. He seems really nice and very informative and helpful. Not to mention upbeat and cheerful. He is trying to get me in during the holidays. His staff is sweet as well. I feel I made the right choice in the way of surgeons. He has a psych eval and dietitian as part of his evaluation and a support group that is open to the public. I have my psych eval and my metting with the dietician on 12/9/99 and the next support meetting is at that time. I plan to go. I am trying to get in before the end of the month for my surgery (Mini-open RNY - open w/ smaller incision)
UPDATE: I am still happy with my choice of surgeons. When I had felt really awful he was quick to return my calls even on the weekends. He is very encouraging.

I met Dr. Goodman yesterday January 27, 2000 and he seemed very nice. He answered all my questions. He was very thorough in letting me know what to expect from the surgery. His staff was courtious and nice. There really was nothing I did not like about him. We did not talk at lenght about aftercare. I have to go back to have a psychological evaluation and to speak with the nutritionist. He did talk about aftercare and the possible complications of surgery the have a support group which you can join before or after. I watched a video before seeing him that explained the surgery and the possible complications of the surgery in detail and I was encouraged to take notes (his nurse got me paper and a pen, since I did not have any) so that I could write down any questions for the dr. afterward. I give him a very good rating he has a wonderful bedside manner and from what I have read so far on WLF site he is also a great surgeon.

Dr. Goodman completed my surgery on 1/3/00. Everything has gone great. Dr. Goodman is a very caring Doctor with a great support staff, especially Nydia. AJ, Dr. Goodman's nurse is also great, she is real caring and called me a bunch of times to see how I was doing. The staff at the Montefiore Medical Center was also great. The incision only measures about 5" long which is alot less than I expected. I highly recommend Dr. Goodman to anyone ready to make this major step. Please E-mail with any questions.

Dr. Goodman has expressed every risk and every benefit of having this surgery. He was very honest and very up front about the procedure and what changes I would have to make in my life as well as my diet. When he spoke to me about my weight, he was kind and used the right words,(not harsh, like some doctors I have seen over the years).

Dr. Goodman and his staff seem to be very concerned about me and my life changes! I am very pleased with him and have already recommended him to others.
