I have known Dr. Marema for 2 plus years and have found him to be very personable and caring. I had the Lap-Band in 2006 and when it didn't work for me, I had the GB three weeks ago. I found the whole experience easy and only uncomfortable (not painful). The staff at both the Celebration and St. Augustine offices were friendly and very helpful. I had a timeline that I had to adhere to and they went out of their way to help me meet my schedule. I have never had any complications with my surgeries. No infections and my laparacopic scars have been minimal and have healed nicely. I would highly recommend Dr. Marema to anyone seeking WL surgery. I live in Orlando and drove to St. Augustine to have my GB and don't regret it one bit. Flagler Hospital was great. The nurses were exceptional and I truly felt taken care of by everyone involved. Thank you Dr. Marema for giving me a chance to have a healthier life.

First impression-very kind, gentle, concerned.rnImpression is same but stronger.rnOffice staff very helpful and full of information.rnThere was nothing to dislike about Dr. MaremarnFuture patients need to know he is extremely qualified and I had no fears - he and his staff made me very comfortable. He will go out of his way to take care of a patient.rnThe aftercare program is emphasized to the max. My impression is that they believe it is as important as the surgery being done properly. rnYes, they have a structured aftercare program.rnThe risks of surgery, of course, are in black and white and they give you the time to read and question. There is \"always\" a risk with surgery and anesthesia and they will go into as much detail as you need.rnI would give Dr. Marema - all around - the very highest rating possible - whatever that may be. I have a great deal of respect for him, his knowledge, his professionalism, etc.rnSurgical competence is at the top of the list but bedside manner is the icing on the cake.

He is the nicest man you would want to meet. He totally understands our pain and frustration with diets etc as he had RNY surgery as well! I would recommend him to ANYONE in this area! Overall. 10 outta 10!

Dr. Marema and his staff are fantastic! I struggled for over a year trying to get my insurance to cover my procedure, and to no avail - the original Dr. I was referred to was turned down by my insurance. They just called and said I would not be covered. I frantically started looking for another Dr. When I stumbled upon Dr. Marema and his staff - they told me they were not in my network but they could apply for gap coverage cause there was no surgeon in my network within 50 miles. If it wasn't for Kristina and her knowledge of insurance coverage - I would never have had the surgery! They went the extra mile to help me, and within three weeks of me calling them - I had my surgery! The entire team is made up of caring, courteous, individuals that follow your progress closely to make sure you are meeting your goals at a healthy pace. I recommend him to anyone considering weight loss surgery. Dr. Marema and his staff have changed my life forever, and I will always be grateful. I guess they say things happen for a reason, and being turned down by the first doctor was the best thing that ever happened to me!

Dr. Marema was one of the kindest doctors I have ever been to. He was knowlegable, considerate and spent a long time with me answering all of my questions. He examined me from head to toe and did a thourogh pre testing regime on me. His staff was unbelievable. He is there for you at any time and is happy to answer even the most stupid questions. His experience is unsurpassed and his skill is beyond anything that I could even imagine. He cares about each of his patients and does not treat you like a number. He genually wants you to be successful and does everything he can to make sure that happens. His bedside manner is awesome. He treats you like you are a very special patient and tends to each need you have after surgery. I could not have picked a better surgeon and am happy that I will have a long term relationship with him because he believes in long term care and followup. I am so happy that he is who I chose.
