I heard about Dr Bilof and Garden State through the Obesity Help website. I stayed for all the reasons you read from other patients - his expertise, his bedside manner, his staff and his real time and attention to me as an individual. In November 2010, I had gastric band surgery - and my knees/hips/back feels better and I can play with my children again. I am not so lazy in life and can do more without effort. Dr. Bilof and staff are wonderful. They always answer my concerns and questions. I'm comfortable with everyone. I would and HAVE recommended this office to everyone!!!
My primary doctor referred me to Dr. Yurcisin - and Obesity Help website and the hospital affiliation. Dr. Yurcisin's knowledge and expertise, the entire team at the office and the comprehensive services offered at the office - and the total comfort are just a few of the reasons I stayed with GSBWC. I had surgery on April 25th 2011 - and 14 days post surgery - I felt lighter and lost 20 lbs!!!
In the beginning right after surgery, I was in the bathroom 24/7. I was feeling depressed and wondered if I had made the right decision. I talked with some of my support group friends and realized this was natural. Support IS important. I continue to stay with these amazing group fo people at gSBWC to continue this changing life adventure!
Surgery in March 2011 - since surgery - off ALL Diabetes meds- no more Insulin shots.
I just wanted to write and thank you for giving me a second chance at life. From the 1st phone call I made to the office, I was treated with kindness and respect. Keisha, Dominga and Bella went out of their way to accommodate me with everything - including scheduling my surgery for the day I asked for.
It's so comforting to know that there are medical professionals out there who really do care about their patients; it's not just a business to them.
I have been heavy my whole life, and I can't tell you how many times I cried myself to sleep and prayed to be able to experience what life would be like, even for just ONE day if I was thin and healthy. You have given me hope that I will not only have that for one day, but the rest of my life.
This weight has been like a demon inside of me that I couldn't control. I know they say that this surgery is only a tool and I understand that, but it's a tool I needed to beat this demon - and everyone at GSBWC are the angel that put the tool in my hands. I know I have along road ahead of me, but I am confident that with the help of all at GSBWC, I will have a long happy life and I am so grateful. Thank you all for everything!
I was referred to the office by both an existing patient and family member. Everything you could ask for in a surgeon and the staff - expertise, care and concern, giving me all the time and attention I need and Dr. Bilof's excellent reputation and ability to care about his patients. Since my surgery in March 2011, I am off all medications for: Diabetes, Cholesterol, Hypertension, Depression and my blood pressure is normal. I enjoy shopping again (down from 22 to 16 1/2 in less than 2 months), my knees/hips/back feel better, and I have a new relationship and am enjoying intimacy with my partner. I feel good and life is better. My sex life is sweet. My grandchildren are happier now that I can play with them. Thank you!!!!!
Dr. Yurcisin performed my Gastric Bypass surgery - and my gallbladder surgery on September 1st 2011. I attended Dr. Yurcisin's informational seminar and he thorougly explained the pros/cons of surgery; is highly trained and seasoned in the field and totally takes the time needed - every time - and worked out what I needed in terms of surgery, my schedule and my challenges with health issues.
I have greatly reduced the medications I take for my Diabetes and am down to only one medicine - for now - and look to remove all medications. My self-confidence is back and I am enjoying shopping again.
I have contemplated bariatric surgery for quite a few years - but was fearful. Once I attended the infomational seminar, my fears were lifted. Dr. Yurcisin took his time to explain the benefits of bariatric surgery and even the complexities that may occur (in my situation) due to 2 cases of pancreatitis. I feel great and look forward to a new future.

I was referred to the office by a friend. My comfort level with all at the office, they are friendly and supportive and fund to be around. Dr Bilof's knowledge and expertise was also an important consideration. I had gastric band surgery in August 2011 and as of September, 2011 I have lost weight, have lowered my diabetic medicine and feel better about myself.
I am so happy to have found Dr. Bilof and his wonderufl staff. At 62 years old, I do not feel my age and have more confidence in myself. Thank you!
I had the gastric band surgery in 2007. Dr. Bilof's backstory is very touching (that he was a vascular surgeon and dissatisfied and frustrated that he could not impact his patient's health 20 years before they came to a vascular surgeon - so he stopped and was retrained in Bariatric surgery - and has never looked back.)
On August of 2011 - I had the gastric sleeve surgery with Dr Bilof and his team. I am looking forward to being healthy again. I have already referred colleagues to Dr. Bilof and I am looking forward to living a long, healthy life! Thank you Dr Bilof for being 'Top Doc' and caring. Thank you, Thank you, Thank YOU.
I was referred to the office in South Jersey by friends and co-workers. I had gastric sleeve surgery on 9/12/11 and - as of my testimonial - I am off all of my diabetes medicine and my cholesterol medicine. I have more ambition to get off the couch and do something! There are not words to adequately express how much the staff and the drs support you, listen to your every care and/or concern and the expertise and knoweldge they have.
The six month pre. for surgery was an important part of making a permanent lifestyle change. The Entire GSBWC Team is kind, courteous and the best at what they do. Taking this journey with my daughter (who also had the surgery, same day with Dr Bilof) has been a wonderful experience!
My primary doctor referred me to the GSBWC team to look at bariatric surgery. Dr Bilof is caring and attentive and staff is friendly and supportive with the entire process. One week post-op and I lost 17 lbs. My blood pressure is normal and my self-confidence is back.
